Why I love Canon Printers

Hi everyone,

I've been meaning to share my experience with Canon printers for a few months. So now here it is.

I've been through my share of printers over the years. None of them lasted very long, but I certainly wasn't buying top of the line either. About 8 years ago I decided to look for the printer in my price range with the most positive reviews. The hands down winner of my  online search was the Canon Pixma 500. I think I purchased it for less than $150. I never had a problem with it. I mean NEVER. In 8 years. I can't say that about too many other items I own. My Vita Mix, Dyson vacuum cleaner and KitchenAid mixer come to mind, but that's about it. Certainly never got that kind of mileage out of any other brand of printer, even ones I paid more for. So when my beloved Canon finally bit the dust, I started looking again, but this time I stuck with Canon, looking for the closest Pixma to the one I had. I found one in the same price range. Surprising after 8 years to find a comparable printer at the same price. It gets better.

I decided to call Canon. I had a few questions..  I also wanted to see if I could get a better price from Canon. So here's what happened. The sales rep was very nice and also very helpful. Nothing like good customer service. He told me the retail price which was about the same as I had found on line, around $125.

But then he told me there was another option. He  used the word "refurbished."  When I hesitated, he told me what refurbished meant to Canon. First they are not broken items that are repaired and resold. Most of the refurbished items have never been out of the box. They are returns from stores making room for newer models or returns of overstocked items. A few may be customer returns, but not because they are broken. As he was telling me this, I thought to myself, "yeah, right." But then he told me the price:  $40. That included some kind of discount and shipping. And it was returnable. What could I lose? Even return shipping was free.

So now I have my Canon Pixma MG5320. It looked band new.  It's a 3 in 1. It does everything I want it to, only quieter than my last printer. I love the new  features. Since I got my printer, the price has gone down on the MG5320, but it's still not as low as $40. That makes me even happier, because if I had  paid full price, I'd be mad about the new lower price. :O) We've all had that happen.

I know many people (like me) are devoted to a brand, but for those who are looking for a good deal, I think Canon is worth a look. I am one happy customer. I just wanted to pass this information along. I felt that I got a great deal.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hurricane Sandy Relief

Hello Everyone,

I had a difficult time choosing a photo for this post. There were so many heartbreaking images of the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy, but this one stood out. Seeing the American flag in tatters struck me. It reminded me that as Americans, we should stick together and help each other no matter what. No matter what our politics, religious beliefs, or personal philosophies might be. I have already made donations, but I was looking for another way to help, and I found it on Etsy.

I was updating one of my Etsy shops, and as always I started looking around on etsy. I found a team made up of people who donate part of the profits from their Etsy sales to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy. I joined and chose to send my donations to the American Red Cross and Rebuild Recover. I decided to split the donations because I was invited to join 2 teams.

If you visit my etsy shop, BlondeinaBathtub, 25% of all profits from your purchase will be donated to the American Red Cross, and the other 25% will be donated to Rebuild Recover.. I've updated and added new products.  Here's one of my new favorites.I hope you like it too. I've always been crazy about polka dots. This design is available in a few color combinations. Please visit and remember your purchase will help those in need.

Autumn in New York

Autumn in New York. It's always wonderful. The weather is just right, still bright and sunny. Trees and grass are still green. Marigolds and mums still bloom in gardens and pots. Then there's the city. No more muggy afternoons to take some joy out of shopping, or sightseeing. Everyone is relaxed after vacations and ready for new Manhattan adventures  It's my favorite time of year in one of my favorite places. I'm so glad I live here.

One of my favorite things about Autumn is the scents. Claire Burke's Appljack & Peel is one of them. Cinnamon, apples, spices and a touch of citrus all come together like an orchestra playing a perfect melody. Only it's not a melody you hear; you take in the scent of it.  I used it, or my version of it, to make an Autumn teapot soap. The shade of red  pairs very well with the apple cinnamon fragrance. For the box I used an image that reminds me of redwork, the embroidery technique done in red threads. It shows stacked teacups.

I've only made 2 of these red soaps, one with a teapot and one with a teacup. I also made a teapot and tea cup in an Autumn gold color. They are scented with a fragrance called Indian Summer. It's the scent of autumn, reminiscent of a stroll down a leafy country lane.

I'll be posting them on sale at  lili's bonbon. The great thing about lili's bonbon is that shipping is always included in the sale price. Stop by and get yourself a touch of Autumn. Thanks for visiting. Marie

Spoil Me

Who wouldn't like to be spoiled, even for just a little while. Our new soap sends the message. We've made soap in the shape of a champagne bottle, placed it in a peep-toe pump, and finally packaged it in a box which says "Spoil Me." Hope you like it as much as we do.

Also new! We're now carrying a line of Greeting Cards and Gift Tags. The cards are blank inside, making them appropriate for almost any occasion. Each card is embellished with German glass glitter and a crystal. Cards also come with coordinating envelopes. We have them under a new category on the menu. Gift boxes can also be made to match most of the tags and cards listed.

We've been busy with a few other things as well. Our blog Lili's Bonbon has some great values. As a result of our recent move, we're trying to find new homes for some of our little treasures. Of course, we know one man's treasure is another man's trash, so we're keeping the prices low. We've paired our soap with some one of a kind packaging, we've listed a few pieces of vintage glassware, and we have some rubber stamps for sale. All at low prices and all with FREE SHIPPING.

Thanks for stopping by. Stay cool, everyone.

Greetings!

I know it's been a long time. My last post was right before a trip to Venice and Greece. It was a wonderful trip, but a soon as I got back, I had to move. Finding a new place over the holidays was a bit of a challenge, but I settled into a new apartment in February. I love it here. Everything is unpacked and now I'm just working out details like where to hang this picture or where to place that souvenir. But enough of that.

 What's New
I am so thrilled with one of my new soap products. I  call it Marie's Shoes. They come as a pair in box featuring Marie Antoinette. The caption reads, "Never enough shoes."  I love these shoes; they have everything I love, ruffles, roses, and kitten heels. They're on sale now on my web site. Just click the link for more details.

Summer Sale

I've selected lots of favorites for this Summer Sale.  Sunflowers, Flip Flop, and Shell soaps are all on sale for at least the next month.

Our Flip Flop soaps have been a favorite since they've been offered. Now, they are available in your choice of left or right foot. Why not buy a pair?

Our shell soaps are all on sale too. We've got a great selection. Some are realistic, some rustic, and some with a very stylized, retro look. There's sure to be one for you. They make lovely hostess gifts.

And last but not least is a fairly new design for our Sunflowers Soap. It's packaged in our Provence Gift box, shown in the photo. The fragrance of this soap is bright and sunny. It's a perfect summer fragrance.

Thanks for stopping buy.
